Summer holiday & camping in the Kaunertal
Head to head with summer in Tyrol
Hiking & Discovering
Over 75 marked trails wind through the Kaunertal Valley. From the relaxed valley hiking path up to high-altitude routes. A paradise for leisure hikers, long-distance walkers, and trail runners. Our tips: Verpeil Gorge and Verpeil Hut, Madatschkopf, Gallruthstollen Water Path, Stone Pine Trail near Gepatschstausee Lake, Glacier Nature Trail and much more.
E-biking, gravel, road bikes and more.
Turn right before Alpin Camping onto the Kaunertal Glacier Road: 29 hairpin bends, 26 kilometres to the valley end. Pass the Gepatschstausee reservoir and Gepatschhaus until you reach the Weißsee Glacier Restaurant. If you prefer to avoid tarmac, take the e-bike or mountain bike towards Verpeil or Falkauns – a scenic and rewarding route.
Mountaineering & High Tours
Weisseespitze, Gepatschferner crossing, Rauekopfhütte via the impressive glacier tongue and so on and so forth. … The Kaunertal is a valley for mountaineers – with over 80 three-thousanders in the surrounding area and often surprisingly quiet trails. We are happy to organise guided high tours and climbing tours via our Alpin Guiding directly at the Alpin Camping.
Summercard Basic & Summercard Gold
With the free Summercard, which you receive from your first night at our Alpin Camping, you can enjoy numerous benefits throughout the region. The Summercard Gold can be optionally added for an extra charge. It also includes access to the Kaunertal Glacier Panorama Road, the use of several mountain railways in the region, e.g. at the Kaunertal Glacier and in Fendels, as well as additional services.
For more detailed information and other advantage cards in the region, visit the official websites of Kaunertal Tourism and Kaunertaler Gletscherbahnen.
Climbing & Via Ferrata Routes
Several climbing gardens offer routes for every level, in addition to the outdoor bouldering area "Höll" and the bouldering hall in Quellalpin for bad weather days. The scenic "Holderli Seppl" via ferrata runs along the Rifflbach waterfall. In the valley, there is also an easy practice via ferrata, while the ascent to Adlerblick is for experienced climbers.
We are happy to organise guided tours directly at our Alpin Camping. And if you're still missing equipment: Sport Larcher and Sport Plankensteiner are just a few steps away. There you can get everything – from via ferrata sets to e-bikes.
Your Family Summer
There’s a small playground right at the Alpin Camping site, and you’ll find more in the village and the surrounding area, for example around the tip tent behind the toll booth. Kids can feel as free as a bird up on the Adlerblick viewing platform. A nature and adventure trail starts very close by in Feichten.
Swimming & Bathing
Opposite Alpin Camping, you can dive into the Quellalpin indoor swimming pool in any weather and relax on warm days on a large, sunny sunbathing lawn. Between Prutz and Ried, there is also a beautiful outdoor lake with a bouncy castle, slide and more. For cooling off at your own risk, the stunning, wild and often icy-cold mountain streams and lakes of the nature park and glacier region also provide relief.
